There cannot be a more fitting season to give birth in than Spring. The season of new beginnings and new life, its symbolic and sentimental significance is important to consider when it comes to shopping for and welcoming a new baby.
Colour schemes can make all the difference, including bedroom furnishings, baby shower themes, home and outer-clothing, cuddly things (including nursing pillows too, of course).
Here are some popular choices emerging in 2018:
Now, mint is probably not the first colour that comes to mind when you think about Spring, or babies, but it is becoming a prominent choice amongst expectant parents this year when choosing bedroom colour schemes. A gender-neutral colour, its fresh and reviving tones are easy on the eye and perfectly reflect the natural light that is beginning to get brighter by the day (and longer lasting). Additionally, a cute pair of corduroy trousers or a cotton pinafore paired with white or cream garments will melt even Uncle Bob’s heart and establish your baby as the best-dressed baby around. They’ll thank you one day.
You’re probably thinking we’re trying to be outlandish for the sake of being outlandish but what can we say, outlandish is the way to be this Spring. Tawny is an incredibly rich and soothing colour that has the magical undertones reminiscent of The Tale of Peter Rabbit and Winnie the Pooh, creating an enchanting and classic atmosphere in a baby’s bedroom. An ideal colour for a feature wall or co-ordinated furniture, this particular shade will give your baby’s room a timeless feel. A number of retailers have released clothing collections with tawny coloured garments for both sexes, especially outer-wear and headwear – we love this colour and want to see more of it, please!
Typically a feminine colour, lilac is creeping into male fashion and interior design this year and everyone loves it! Although it would be more suited for baby girls, lilac is a beautiful colour for a bridal shower, especially for a gender reveal or a mother who wants a surprise after her time is up. It’s easy to purchase bedding, clothing and toys with these tones and they’d definitely stand out in a pile of presents or a sea of pushchairs. A cool and refreshing shade, this is one colour that will quintessentially capture the splendour of Spring and a new baby all in one.
